Honoring Active Citizens

All Tufts University students are part of Tisch College, and every year we are proud to recognize the outstanding work of graduating students who have demonstrated a commitment to civic engagement during their time at Tufts with the following awards and honors for active citizenship.

The Jonathan M. Tisch College of Civic Life sponsors the Honos Civicus Society to honor and publicly recognize graduating students who have excelled in civic engagement during their time at Tufts. Shortly before commencement each year, Honos Civicus ceremonies in Medford, Boston and Grafton are held to induct new members. In 2016, 146 students are receiving this honor.

Presidential Awards for Citizenship and Public Service

For over fifteen years, Tufts University has honored exceptional students with the prestigious Presidential Award for Citizenship and Public Service. These awards recognize undergraduate and graduate students across the University for outstanding achievement in community service and civic leadership.
