Dean Hollister course features alumni leaders

Back in the classroom after 5 years, Tisch College Dean Rob Hollister is excited to be teaching his course, Leadership and Active Citizenship. Bringing students face to face with Tufts alumni, the course demonstrates different leadership styles and strategies on a broad range of community challenges and policy issues.

“Leadership and active citizenship are two qualities Tufts fosters in all its students,” Hollister said. “My course taps the impressive breadth of expertise among our alumni network to help students gain a real understanding of how to be active citizen leaders throughout their careers beyond college.”
Cross-listed through the Department of Political Science and the Department of Urban and Environmental Planning, students will hear from a range alumni guest speakers over the course of the semester and will also conduct personal interviews with a Tufts alumnus/a of their choosing.

Hollister said. “In my class, student will not only be able to see how both their active citizenship and leadership skills can transfer to their professional careers, but they’ll also develop the skills to continually expand their leadership abilities as their careers develop.”
