Alumni in Action

Tufts alumni don't sit still. They act.

They're business people and lawyers, former Peace Corps volunteers and environmental activists, entrepreneurs and journalists. Here's what some of them have done recently:

Rachel Hoff -  For the past year Rachel Hoff has been working 24/7, anticipating this month's midterm elections. With the campaigns now concluded, Rachel is out of a job as national field director for Young Republicans — but ready for her next one as a researcher and writer in the office of Cong. Mac Thornberry (R-TX). More.

Laura (Goss) Miller, J'94 - A State Department employee in the Boston Passport Agency, Laura has kept active in the Tufts University community through volunteering for TAAP and the Alumni Career Advisory Network. She also volunteers for a variety of other causes.

Matt Bai, LA '90 - Now a political journalist for The New York Times Magazine, Matt worked at The Boston Globe as a general assignment reporter for two years. Then, after spending a year as a Fellow at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government and working for Rolling Stone "for about five minutes," he went back to Newsweek, where he spent five years as a political correspondent. More.

Barbara Clarke J '88 - After graduating from Tufts, Barbara obtained her Masters in international economics and finance from Brandeis University and embarked on a 12-year career in management consulting. Now she's found her calling among Boston's most unfortunate. More.

Dan Winslow, LA '80 - Making a difference since graduation has meant earning a law degree, serving as a district court judge and associate appellate justice in Massachusetts, and working as chief legal counsel to the governor. Recently, he took the next step. More.
